Discovery Centre

Curriculum

Week 3 was another fun filled week of learning in the Discovery Centre! We had our first week of PMP where we crawled and rolled our way through set obstacles and practised throwing and catching against a bounce board. All of which we could not have done without our amazing parent helpers, so thank you!

In Numeracy, we have been further investigating how we can use concrete materials to help us count and the ways we can represent numbers. We even headed out into the garden to collect leaves to use as counting resources. To prepare for a unit on Length in Week 4, our Year 5 buddies helped us find out how tall we are by measuring us using string!

In Literacy, we focused on reinforcing our recognition of the letters of the alphabet with a range of engaging and hands-on activities. We also spent time discussing the things that we would like to get better at in Term 1 and drew them.

In Wellbeing, we closely explored what it looks like and feels like to be in the ‘Green Zone’ and what sorts of thing help us to feel that way.

Have a lovely week!
