Associate Principal's Report

NAPLAN

We have had a few technical issues associated with online testing but our technical support across the school has been outstanding and as a result all students have completed their tests successfully.

Pinetree Gully Roadworks

Pinetree Gully Road has now been resurfaced and islands will hopefully be re-instated by the end of the week. This will help make the road safer to cross until they complete the whole project in December. As mentioned before, we will be working with Willetton SHS to establish a second crossing which will have a cross walk attendant.

Pirate Day 2019

Pirate Day in May is an annual national day of dressing up to raise awareness and much-needed funds for childhood brain cancer. Funds raised on the day are allocated to scientific studies to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for the disease. Burrendah Primary School will be supporting the cause on Friday 31st May. So dress up and bring along your treasure, gold coin donations, to assist in raising awareness and much-needed funds.

Pre-primary Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons have been running smoothly and by all accounts the students are enjoying this opportunity to learn how to swim as a life skill and for pure enjoyment. Thank you to Janine Bain for organising these lessons for our Pre-primary students.

School Position Report

As in previous years, you can ask the school to provide a School Position Report which clearly shows your child’s achievement in the subjects studied in comparison with that of other children in your child’s peer group at school. To receive this information, please put in a request for a School Position Report through the school Reception.

Student reports will be sent home Week 9, Friday 28th June. Parent-teacher interviews will take place during Week 10 with the majority of interviews taking place on Wednesday 3rd July when we close the school for the afternoon. Closer to this date we will send home instructions on how to access and use our online booking system.

In Semester 2, we intend on sending reports to parents using Connect. To make sure this is a smooth process we will inform parents of how to access these reports online well before the end of Term 4.

Collins Booksellers

The school would like to thank Lloyd and Barbara Christopher at Collins Book Sellers for supporting the school’s Gold Card reward system. Over the years, many worthy students have been the recipients of these book vouchers and have loved searching through Collins Booksellers store to find something that suits their interests. This has been a tremendous initiative that is funded by the P&C and will continue through Dymock's in Garden City.
