Principal's Message

From the Principal

Please join with the school and parish communities for our Family Mass this Sunday at 9.00 am at Mary Help of Christians Church. It is important that we come together as a faith community to witness and pray together.

The Catholic Church in Australia is dedicating the month of November as a time to pray for those affected by crippling drought conditions and to pray for the gift of rain. The month of prayer is an additional response to the local work being done in affected communities, in a Catholic context, prayer must be a part of our response.

On Wednesday Year 5 headed off to Lake Keepit for a few days where they will explore many outdoor learning activities such as rock climbing, canoeing and archery, as well as focus on leadership as they head towards Year 6 in 2020. Again a big thanks to the teachers and parents who make opportunities such as this available to our students.

Last Friday we held the first of our three orientation days for Kindergarten 2020. Thank you to the teachers and staff who ensured this event ran smoothly. The children had a great time. A big thanks to the all those who served morning tea, sold new clothing, ran the clothing pool and made sure all new families were made to feel very welcome. The next orientation day is tomorrow. On Wednesday we held School Readiness Sessions for the parents of next year’s Kindergarten children, which I know the parents enjoyed and found very helpful.
