Product Design and Technology

This year students were asked to create and submit all of their design work digitally. Students had the option of using Google docs, PowerPoint or OneNote for their digital folios.  A digital platform for all of the students' work has allowed us all to move smoothly into the remote learning model this term.

The Unit 1 Product Design and Technology students were busy in Term 1 developing design folios for their product.  An old tired wind breaker was presented to the class for re-design. Students were asked to set up a design brief and focus on sustainable design practice for this existing product.  Students looked for inspiration from other designers to re-develop this product.

With their visualisations and design options complete, I am excited to see their designs develop from their digital devices to a finished product.

The students' last task of Term 1 was to write a production plan to be able to sew their product.  This production plan will support the students with their move into a remote production environment. These mood boards, inspirations, visualisations and mind maps are an indication of the sewn products to come to realisation this term.
