Unit 1 Media

The Unit 1 Media students were very busy in Term 1 developing production design plans for their second outcome.  Students were asked to investigate, plan, write, film, edit and distribute an advertisement for a product of their own choice. 

 

With intention and audience statements completed, I was excited to see their advertisements develop.  Traditional products such as Coke, cat food and Oreos, through to fun novelty socks and more retro ideas of vinyl records and 'old school' cameras were some products that were explored in their production design plans.

Mood boards, scripts, shot lists, props and costume requirements, along with their story boards, demonstrated to their teacher that they were ready to “roll sound and record”! 

 

We now find ourselves in a different circumstance where social distancing prevails and students' location shooting needs to be re-thought.  Have you ever heard the saying “The show must go on”?  Well, in this instance, the Unit 1 Media students will put on their creative hats and find solutions to their shot lists and story boards.  With the use of green screen technology and re-casting their families to star in their advertisements, I am looking forward to their finished advertisements.
