Return to On-site Learning

As we return to on-site learning, I’m writing to thank all our community - our families, school staff, including school leaders, teaching and support staff and of course all of our students!

We acknowledge your incredible efforts supporting the students as we have transitioned in and out of remote and on-site learning this term, through what has been, and continues to be, a challenging time.

We have been so thrilled to see the smiles and hear the laughs of students in classrooms, back at school, once again.

Our two main priorities at this time will be:

  • Student wellbeing - supporting students who may be reluctant to return to school, or those who may have disengaged during remote learning, with a focus on
    re-establishing a positive school climate.
  • And our Learning Program - getting back into the swing of the full learning program, including routines and structures.

Face masks will continue to be an important feature as we return to school and will be mandatory for students over 12 (in secondary settings) and all teachers (primary and secondary). Parents are welcome to come to the class line, to pick up and drop off students. However, we are asking families not to wait in the school yard and to also ensure they are social distancing at all times, in line with current restrictions.

All parent/carers who enter buildings must check in via the QR Code at the office as required by the Government. Non-essential visitors will be limited to the school for the next 2 weeks, at least.

There will be no assembly this Friday due to restrictions.

Education Committee

Our next meeting is Wednesday 4th August at 6.00pm, via Webex. We will be looking at the Safe & Happy Book from a parent’s point of view and would love feedback and contributions from the community. Please come along and join our meeting!

If you would like to attend please email Amanda Wigg: amanda.wigg@education.vic.gov.au

Building Resilience in Children

On Monday, 30th August, from 6 to 7.30pm, Walker Learning will be facilitating an Information Workshop for families. As we navigate through the challenges of COVID and daily life, building resilience will continue to be a key strategy to support student wellbeing. Please register via Try Booking in this newsletter.

Remote Learning Fun

We are sharing some of the fun that has been sent through by teachers during remote learning.

Great to see such happy faces (even though learning was via Showbie & Webexs!)
