Religious Education

Welcome back to Term 2!

I hope you all had a happy, holy and safe Easter with your families.

This Sunday, we celebrate our amazing mums, who do so much for us.

We wish all of our beautiful mothers, grandmothers, aunties, carers and special women a wonderful Mother’s Day.

On the 13 May we also celebrate our wonderful mother Mary with the feast of Our Lady of Fatima.

The Story of Fatima

On May 13, 1917, Lucia and her two cousins, Jacinta and Francisco Marto, were herding sheep near their hometown village, Fatima.

Lúcia described seeing a woman "brighter than the sun, shedding rays of light clearer and stronger than a crystal ball filled with the most sparkling water and pierced by the burning rays of the sun."

Amazed, Lucia and her cousins ran back to their village and told everyone what they saw. Mary continued to appear once a month for 6 months to the three children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco.

Our Lady asked the children to say the rosary every day to bring peace to the world.

With what is currently happening in our world, praying the rosary is one action that we can take to promote world peace. If you would like more information about praying the rosary, the Rosary Centre is a fantastic resource.
