Canberra Trip 2022

Marian College Canberra Trip 2022

17  Marian students and four staff left for Canberra on Sunday 10 April and returned on Saturday 16 April. The group was eager with anticipation and had an incredible time visiting the many sites of our capital city, these included the Australian Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial, the Museum of Australian Democracy, the National Electoral Education Centre, and the Royal Australian Mint just to name a few. We look forward to sharing our experiences with the community at a later date and hope that you enjoy some of our photos in the meantime.

Students from Marian College undertook an education tour of the national capital. They were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage, and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $45 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

We thank all those who were involved in the planning of this trip and can’t wait to share our time with you!
