Junior School

The last week of Term 1 is always an exciting one!

Our Stage 3 Firetails have held their first Performing Arts ‘Soiree’ for their parents on Thursday evening. What an amazing bunch of students we have in this class! I am impressed with the commitment the students are showing to develop their skills across all areas of the Creative Arts, and their ability to collaborate with each other.

The Music skills of ALL of our students were put on display with our annual Grandparents Days – held on Thursday, 7th April at Springwood and on Friday, 8th April at Wentworth Falls. I’d like to thank Mrs Lewis, Mrs Cooney, Mr Forbes and Mrs Murray for their help in preparing students so that they were confident and happy to perform. Thank you to all the families who were able to attend, and for visiting our Book Fair! We are excited about the new donations we have in our libraries!

Despite the rain, which has been the steady rhythm which we have ‘danced’ to this term, we celebrated Easter in the Junior School this week. In class, students learned about the Easter story from the Bible and we enjoyed celebrating with our whole school community on Friday. Our Early Learners have had a visit from a large, fluffy bunny and chocolate eggs have been hidden and found by children at Springwood and Wentworth Falls.

It’s joyful to see the children so happy after a big and challenging term and I pray that families enjoy a restful and reflective Easter holiday.  My end of Term letter may be downloaded here.

Finally, I’d like to extend a HUGE ‘Thank you’ to Dr Drew who has so faithfully taught and cared for our Stage 1 students this term. The children, families and staff have been continuously impressed with the work done by Dr Drew in setting this group up for a wonderful year of learning. Ms Katie Walters has been appointed as Junior School teacher to take these students for the rest of the year and we are very excited to have her on board! Ms Walters has a passion for helping children learn and grow, particularly in their formative years and she has much to offer our school.
