Cross Country 2022

We have begun the term focusing on our cross country event in all year levels for P.E. The students will learn effective strategies to compete in the long distance running race, as well as breathing techniques to use. Cross Country will be divided into the following events:

  • Junior Cross Country - Thursday 12th June at 2:30pm on the school oval.
  • Senior Cross Country - Friday 13th June at 2:30pm on a safe course outside our school.

Both events will be held from 2:30pm till 3:30pm, so I encourage any family or community members to come join us in celebrating and cheering on our fabulous students. I would love any parent helpers who are willing to be course marshals to contact me on Sentral, and I will provide you with more information.

Running Club Term 2

Running Club is held every Friday morning at 8am on the school oval. We had a fantastic turn out in Week 1 and I am hoping to generate more interest over the coming weeks. Running Club is a fantastic way to start the school day, students will be exposed to a range of running sessions, including long distance, sprints, running drills and general fitness. This club is open to all year levels and is inclusive to all abilities. My focus is on fun, fitness and friendships. I look forward to seeing more students come along next Friday to join in! Don't forget Breakfast Club is open on this morning so students can join after Running Club.

Walk Safely to School Day

Walk Safely to School Day is scheduled for Friday 20th May. More information will be provided closer to the day!

Mount Pleasant's Got Talent

This Thursday 5th May, any students who signed up last term for MPGT will be given a chance to audition. Auditions will run all day with the hope of seeing most if not all acts.  Students will be given their call time by their classroom teacher and will be sent to the music room throughout the day accordingly.  It is important that students are ready for their audition eg. Music notation, instrument etc.  If students need a piece of music to be played for their performance they can inform me and i will be able to find it and play it for them.   Once all the auditions are complete the teachers will compile a list of finalists to perform in the grand final on Wednesday 22nd June.  I wish all the students the best of luck and commend them for their courage.

Senior Choir News

What an amazing start to the term from our Senior Choir with a beautiful performance at our ANZAC Day Ceremony. It was wonderful to be able to perform 'In the Silence' and share our hard work from rehearsals in Term One.

This term, Senior Choir will be held on Thursdays, first half of lunchtime. If your child is not currently in Choir but would like to join, now is a fantastic time to join as we are preparing for our next performance at Open Night. We always welcome any new members and just ask that students do commit to coming weekly to rehearsals. As always, so proud of our Senior Choir and looking forward to sharing our next performance!
