Final Reminder to the Class of 2021

‘Year 12 Careers, Results, Change of Preference & Course Offer Information Pack’ was emailed to all Year 12 students and parents on Friday 5th November.

Year 11 Careers & Well-being Day 2021

With many Mazenod College Career Events cancelled due to Covid-restrictions, (Year 10 work experience 2020, Year 11 Careers & Industry Conference 2021), all Year 11 students were given the opportunity to participate in the Careers & Wellbeing Day program on Friday 19th November 2021. 

It was the hope of the College to inspire and engage our students to return to school in the 2022 academic year, with a renewed enthusiasm towards their studies, career goals and pathways beyond secondary school. As such, four major Universities (Monash, Deakin, RMIT & Swinburne) were invited to present to our students either live or virtually, presenting the following information:

• Offerings at each University in 2023. 
• Why study with us? 
• Early Entry Programs and applications that may lead to an early conditional offer. 
  • What is the process? 
  • What is the University looking for in applicants? 
• A current student perspective. (Student Ambassador address) 
• Q & A time.

All presentations were recorded and have been posted on MAZCOM. Students are invited to view the presentations of the institutions they did not attend on the day. These recordings are available on-demand and I encourage our young men to take the time to view these presentations.

Over the years, the number of students in higher education has grown exponentially and there are many more providers of higher education than in previous decades. Mazenod College has traditionally had a significantly high uptake of University Undergraduate degrees at the completion of Year 12. The class of 2022 is encouraged to begin the finalisation of their career plans post-secondary school!

A reminder to Year 10 2022 students to use the upcoming Christmas holidays to actively search for work experience placement. Work experience paperwork will be due at the end of term 1 2022.

Dates for work experience:        Monday 20th – Friday 24th June 2022

                                                               (5-day placement)
