Junior School spelling out RESPECT

In 3/4  for inquiry this term, we learnt about gender stereotypes and discussed how clothing and toys need not be gender specific. We can all like dinosaurs or ballet. As a result of our discussions, the 3/4s designed their own t-shirts. They created their own logos or images, designed a stencil and then with the support of Sue Wallace, they screen printed the design on to a t-shirt. We are so impressed with their creativity and hope that they enjoy wearing their t-shirts for a long time to come.

A Tale of Respect

In 3/4ES we have been learning about respect. As part of the ‘16 Days of Activism - Respect’, our class wrote and illustrated books about respect. Today we had the opportunity to read them to our target audience, the Preps and Grade 1/2s. The stories were wonderful, interesting and unique, and everyone loved listening to them and learning from our amazing 3/4s.

Respect is treating people how you want to be treated.

Respect is listening to the speaker without interrupting.

Philippa 3/4ES

Respect is not bullying people.

Respect is not laughing at people and calling people names.

Noah 3/4ES

Respect is being nice to people.

Respect is letting people join into your games.

In Inquiry, we are learning about our health, wellbeing and safety. In our health unit we have learnt how to take care of our minds and body. Don’t sit on the couch all day long - get off the couch and go outside. Enjoy yourself so you stay fit and healthy. Life is much better when you  are outside.

Alexia 3/4ES

In wellbeing and safety, we have been learning how to take care of ourselves in dangerous situations.

A few weeks ago, in the newsletter, we showed you the 3/4ES designs for our t-shirts: students came up with ideas, thoughts and passions that they wanted to tell the world! Here are the final t-shirts, of which we are so proud!
