Fitzroy Primary School
Covid Information
As some families may have heard, a member of the school community has tested positive for COVID-19. We have contacted all potential primary close contacts who have been asked to get tested and isolate until they receive a negative test. Once they receive their negative result, they will need to email the school at fitzroy.ps@education.vic.gov.au
Please remember if your child is unwell, keep them at home. If you or anyone in your family develops even the mildest symptoms, please get tested.
We continue to have Covid safe measures in place to make sure our school is adhering to all requirements and recommendations.
- Students are expected to wash their hands across the day, and hand sanitiser is available in all classrooms
- Masks are required for all 3-6 students when they are inside, with disposable masks available at school if needed.
- Masks are highly recommended for students in F-2; this can be discussed further with your child's teacher. Disposable masks will be provided in each F-2 classroom.
- QR codes for check-ins are placed at the front office for all visitors to the school
- All visitors and parents/carers will be asked for proof of vaccination if they need to enter the school buildings.
- Staff at school are 100% fully vaccinated
- Increasing fresh air flow into indoor spaces by having windows and doors open and fans on.
- Encouraging classrooms to participate in learning and eating in outdoor areas.
- The school's cleaning team are responsible for daily cleaning, including high touch points such as desks, door handles and toilets.
Swimming
Swimming has started this week at Fitzroy Pool, it was great to see so many of our students attending. Swimming will continue next week so please make sure your children bring all their swimming gear in a separate bag.
Transition
Yesterday we had our first session for our Foundation 2022 Transition Program. It was wonderful to meet our Foundation students for next year and welcome them to Fitzroy Primary School. Children had the opportunity to meet some of our teachers and become familiar with our school. It was also lovely to see younger siblings of our current families join our great school. The second session for Foundation Transition is Thursday 2nd December from 9:30am to 10:30am.
