Inquiry

Connecting to the past

Our focus for Inquiry this term is 'Connecting to the Past'.  To start the topic off we looked at past objects, photographs, games, toys and cards. It was quite interesting listening to the children guess what some of the items might have been used for.

We are also very excited for our excursion to Mont De Lancey, where our children will be immersed in many olden day activities, such as a visit to the Blacksmith, experiencing an olden day classroom, playing with old toys and a visit to the museum.  If any parents would like to assist on the day please email your child's teacher.

Mont De Lancey Dates

Year One - Thursday 13th May

Year Two - Friday 14th May

To end the term our children will be choosing a topic they would like to focus on and will have the chance to work with other teachers and students in the year level to create their inquiry projects. Some projects done in the past have included creating olden day houses, paper dolls with olden day clothes, vintage cars, classic recipes, replicas of a classroom from the past and towns like Sovereign Hill.
