Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

Year 1 Literacy 

The Year 1 students have been learning about Persuasive Texts. They have learned that to persuade someone means to convince them about something. In reading, students are learning to identify when an author is trying to persuade them about something, like in an advertisement. For writing, they have been learning to write an opinion, like ‘Maramba is the best school!’ Students have also been thinking of and writing reasons why their opinion is correct, and how they can persuade others to think the same way. We hope you enjoy these samples of the Year 1 students writing persuasive texts about our school.

Maramba Primary School is good because it helps you learn. It has Art class and it has nice teachers. You do fun things. Aisha
