Student achievements

Congratulations to the following students:

Leni Vagg (Year 7), who won the title of overall champion in the 2021 Gymnastics Tasmania Youth International Championships following the Tasmanian Gymnastics Championships held at Kingborough Gymsports on 26-28 March.

Chloe Edwards (Year 8), who bravely shaved her head to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave. Chloe, who has had the same hairstyle for years and would rarely cut or trim her hair, parted with her long locks in memory and honour of her grandmother, who passed away from cancer 12 years ago. Chloe also recently lost a dear family friend to leukaemia, which has further cemented her passion about raising awareness for blood cancer and supporting families suffering from its impacts.

Remarkably, Chloe raised more than $2,500 for the Leukaemia Foundation in less than 10 days, and will be donating her hair to the charity to make into a wig. Congratulations on your selfless act, Chloe! This is a wonderful display of compassion and generosity.

Maya Bearman (Year 6), who won the Bill Henderson Memorial Shield, which is awarded to the best female and male Year 6 swimmer at the JSSATIS swimming carnival. Well done to all swimmers on a fantastic JSSATIS swimming carnival. Read the full results report over in Sports News.
