2022 Foundation Parent Evening

Last night we held our first in person information evening for our 2022 incoming Foundation parents. It was so great to have so many prospective parents attend the evening. 

The Foundation/1 team did a great job presenting to the parents a clear overview of what and who we are at Newlands. Their passion for the school was clearly evident and obvious to anybody who attended last night.

For those who maybe thinking of enrolling and hasn't got a sibling at Newlands please visit our website and complete our on-line enrolment form. 

CSEF

If this information is relevant to you as a parent please, and you may not know or registered please contact the office to do so.

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like:

  • school camps or trips
  • swimming and school-organised sport programs
  • Foundation uniform package
  • excursions and incursions.

Families holding a valid means-tested concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply. Please apply at the office for this funding if you are eligible and have not done so already.

Sonya will be sending our order forms to Foundation families who qualify for a uniform package next week.

Reminders

This term we have several DET requirements to complete: 

NAPLAN -Years 3 & 5. This year the entire Year 5 cohort will be completing NAPLAN on-line. This year NAPLAN has been timetable over two consecutive weeks. 

11/05/2021 - 13/05/2021 Year 3

17/05/2021 - 19/05/2021 Year 5  

Student Attitudes To School Survey - Years 3 & 5 later this term. This survey provides us as teachers and school leaders important information around how students feel about school and about the delivery of learning across all areas and not just their classroom.

These two DET requirements are annual and DET has an expectation that all relevant students participate.

Calendar - SENTRAL & Newsletter

This newsletter calendar has been re-aligned with the SENTRAL calendar. From now the newsletter calendar will be an accurate reflection of the SENTRAL calendar at the time of publication. We hope this action will significantly reduce any confusion around dates for events, student activities and other important activities.
