Uniform Reminder

A reminder for parents, guardians and students;

The only jacket that can be worn in place of the school jumper or windcheater is the LHS weatherproof jacket.

Jumpers with HOODS are NOT permitted.

Year 12 Study Skills: Elevate Education

The program will strengthen our students' opportunity to achieve success in Year 12. It will involve two sessions; Ace Your Exams and Memory Mnemonics.

The presenters are young, dynamic and successful VCE graduates, currently engaged in further education.

Payment and consent is available on Compass.

VCE Masterclass Schedule

Every year the Yarra Valley Teacher’s network runs VCE Masterclasses for various Unit 3 and 4 subjects. They are held locally, are reasonably priced and are designed for students to maximise their chances of success in VCE.

As we are at the pointy end of the year, students need to be grabbing every opportunity they can!

VCE Superstars

It is such a busy time of year for everyone in VCE and it's fantastic to see students take initiative for their own learning by attending (non-compulsory) extra classes provided by teachers.

Students unable to attend are offered the same resources, but it is terrific to see such a great turn out.

Below is some of the great work being done last fortnight. Well done!

Year 12 Psychology

Students attended an after school class where they summarised Unit 4  Area of Study 1 Learning.  They annotated an A3 poster, with pictures signifying different topics in the unit and had fun (wearing lolly jewellery) while doing it!

Year 12 Classical Studies

In Ms Higgins Classical Studies morning class, students came prepared with all the burning questions they had regarding the impending SAC.  Practice answers and knowledge of sculptures were also revised. No one took the classical studies class for ‘granite.’

Attendance

It is a requirement at Lilydale High School that students attend all timetabled classes so that teaching and learning opportunities can be maximised.

If students have reached their limit for absences from class, there is an opportunity for this time to be redeemed.

Students can speak to their Year Level Coordinator to discuss making this time up at lunchtime, during afternoon study periods, or after school.

Furthermore, it is a requirement that students attend Home Group, even if they have Study Periods, Periods 1 & 2.

Student Absences

Any absences from school must be parent/guardian approved – you can do this through a signed note or you can approve your child’s absences via the Parent Approval Button on Compass.

You can also use Compass to view your student’s past absences.
