A New Year - A New Chapter

for Nick Crawley

On behalf of the school, we make the following announcement regarding our much loved Chaplain - Nick Crawley

Many of you are aware that Nick Crawley had significant time away from Chaplaincy duties at BHCS last year as a result of complex issues, including exhaustion and burn-out. It is with profound sadness that we need to inform you that, although there had been improvement during Term 4 there are some issues still unresolved. Nick has not returned to BHCS in 2018, and has now formally tendered his resignation. Coupled with their relocation to Brighton, this represents a major challenge for the Crawley family. We are deeply saddened. He will be greatly missed by so many students, parents and staff members who he has supported and encouraged, in his unique way, for the past seven years. Throughout this most difficult time our concern as school leaders has been to see him eventually restored to full health.  This remains heavy on our hearts.  Nick has requested that all members of our community respect the privacy of his family, especially Jeremy in Year 12 and Zac in Year 10, at this difficult time.

Please take a moment to read the following from Nick:

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank so many of you for your support of me and my role as Chaplain.  Thank you for all the years we've worked together.

I'm going to miss working with each and every one of you.  Thank you for letting me have some fun on camps. Thank you for supporting me with encouragement after 'out there' upfront stuff.  Thank you for trusting me to work with your kids, so that we might help them through a day.

We will continue to pray for the school.  We love BHCS. We love its mission. We love its heart.

In the words of a wise man...no, actually, just a man: 'Keep building...brick by brick' Hulk Hogan circa 2016.

God bless

Chaplain out.

As a school community we appreciate your prayers and understanding as we work through this time.  Please be assured our students and staff will continue to work closely with Mel, our Junior School Chaplain as we all transition through this change.
