HUMAN POWERED VEHICLE TEAM

The Human Powered Vehicle Team competed in the RACV Energy Breakthrough in Maryborough from Thursday 20 November to Sunday 23 November.  Storm competed in the Triathlon. They participated in the obstacle course, where they placed 3rd in their heat and the time trial, where they again placed third in their heat.  The students also memorised speeches and presented them to a panel of judges during Display and Presentation and they had to answer questions on the design, construction and the environment during Design and Construction.  The students finished the competition by racing in an 8 hour endurance race.  The students finished this race in 53rd position.

 

Typhoon participated in the open HPV category.  The students memorised a speech and presented it to a panel of judges and they had to answer questions on the design, construction and the environment during Design and Construction. The students then participated in a 24 hour endurance race.  The team competed against 96 trikes.  They qualified in 20th position and finished the race 29th. In 24 hours the students actually rode an amazing 670 km!
