New Staff

Hello, my name is Rowan Fleer-Stout, or Mr F to most of my students. I have joined BSC in 2022 and will be working in the Mathematics department, where I will be teaching Year 7 to 9. I grew up in the Mornington Peninsula, you may know of Point Leo surf beach, and I went to University at Deakin and graduated with a Master of Teaching.

The reason I chose BSC, and East Gippsland was that I liked the area and had heard good things about the school. As well as the fact that my parents told me that I wouldn’t have to worry about driving four hours to visit them, as they would be visiting me, since they also liked the area. I’m living in Newland’s arm and have been enjoying the morning walks, but not the morning mosquitoes. I don’t have any pets at the moment but enjoy playing with my landlords cats and the College support dogs. Personally, I love to spend my free time reading and enjoy Dungeons and Dragons when I have the free time, as well as anything related to Harry Potter. Thank you for having me at your school.

Hello! My name is Nicholas Beare and I have joined BSC in 2022. I will be working with the English team and teaching classes that range from Years 7 to 10. I have grown up in Melbourne but just recently moved to the East Gippsland area prior to the start of the school year. I completed my studies at the Australian Catholic University and feel privileged to be able to start my teaching career in Bairnsdale. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading a book by the water and playing basketball. As a graduate teacher I feel extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a supportive team of staff and can’t wait to see what this year holds!

Hi all, my name is Britt or Miss Crellin. I have joined BSC in 2022 and will be working in the Health/PE and Outdoor Ed. I grew up in Mansfield, so had great access to so many beautiful natural experiences. I’m particularly fond of mountain bike riding, snowboarding, canoeing, hiking, motorbike riding, and rock climbing. I love to spend my free time doing one of the above, reading, writing YA novels, in the Theatre either on stage or watching, seeing live music, and hopefully squeezing in some time with my loved ones. I’m super excited to be in Bairnsdale to plant some roots, after travelling around Australia for the last couple of years. So many adventures to be had. I look forward to meeting you around the town!

Kia ora everyone

My family have recently moved to Bairnsdale from Red Beach, Auckland, New Zealand. I am originally from South Africa and my family immigrated to Auckland, New Zealand when I was a teenager.  Our fox terrier, Benji also travelled with us from New Zealand  and he is still getting used to the thunder and lightning. I was very excited to get employed by Bairnsdale Secondary College as a Food and Textiles teacher. It is great to get to know my students at the moment and to be surrounded by their enthusiasm. The staff have been very welcoming and supportive. We love exploring Bairnsdale and the surrounding areas. We have been to Raymond Island and the koalas were fascinating to observe in their natural surroundings. We enjoy cycling on the rail trail and going into different directions.  We have so much to explore and being in Australia is one great adventure for our family.
