Principal's Report

Term 4

Term 4 is the time that we start planning for 2020. We have been having Prep transition and discussing what will happen in 2020 in regards to staff and classes. As the term progresses I will endeavour to keep you updated with what is happening next year. In the mean time we are still taking enrolments for 2020 at any year level.

If you are looking at moving from Upper Ferntree Gully Primary School in 2020 for any reason please let me know as soon as possible.

ILP Week

In week 3 we have our ILP meetings. The process also involves conversations about learning between the student and the teacher and the family. 

When students are assisted to delve into their own thinking and learning processes, they are drawn to think about the effectiveness of the strategies they used to achieve the learning goals they set. Planning what to do, monitoring progress towards achieving it and evaluating the outcome can help students take more control over their thinking and learning processes and equip them with learning to learn skills.

If your child has an individual learning plan then this is the opportunity for you to meet with the teacher and discuss your child's progress and reflect on their learning and decide on their new goals.

Summer sports

Last week our 5/6 students particpated in Summer Sports. They had a great time and achieved excellent results.

Condolences

Our thoughts are with Sam and Lucy Barnett at this difficult time. Thank you to everyone in our community for showing such great support to the family. We will be thinking of them as they remember Jacinta.
