Spanish Incursion

LA BELLA Y LA BESTIA SPANISH INCURSION

Spanish students in Years 7, 8 and 9 watched a bilingual special puppet show of Beauty and the Beast.  This show was an opportunity for our Spanish students to practice listening to the Spanish language in a different context than what they are used to in the classroom. The show included some audience participation, where students had to answer "Si" (yes) or "No" (No) in response to questions the characters would ask. They also sang a Spanish song. At the end of the show, the students were able to ask questions from the theatre company about the show. It was a great experience.

On Monday, 1st May, Spanish students of Year 7, 8 and 9 watched a bilingual puppet show called ‘La Bella y La Bestia’ (Beauty and the Beast) in Spanish and English. The show was about La Bella, whose father wanted to marry her off to El Barron Patata so that they wouldn’t have to be in debt. The props and sets were hand made. It was a very interesting show and we had the opportunity to practise listening to the Spanish language. I enjoyed it very much.
