From the Principal
I write to confirm our return dates based on the Victorian Premier's announcement on Tuesday 12 May 2020.
After careful consideration of what is deemed in the best interest of our students, as well as the health and safety of our children, staff, parents and wider community, College can confirm the following return dates:
Sunday 24 May Year 11 and 12 boarders will return
Monday 25 May ELC is open. Prep to Year 12 will continue our Remote
Learning Program
Tuesday 26 May ELC is open. Prep, Year 1 and 2, Year 11 and 12 students
return to school.
Years 3-10 will continue our Remote Learning Program.
Siblings of students in Prep to Year 2 and Years 11 and 12 are
welcome to return to school. These students (in Years 3 - 10) will
be supervised, not taught, and continue to learn remotely on site.
Monday 8 June (Queen’s Birthday) Years 7 - 10 boarders return
Tuesday 9 June Years 3 - 10 return to school
Friday 19 June Last day of Term Two, normal dismissal times
This decision follows the Victorian Chief Medical Officer’s advice and meets State Government recommendations that provide a staggered approach to monitor and evaluate the effects that the return to school might have on the increased movement of people and transmission within the community. Such an approach also enables us time to settle senior and early primary students while identifying the potential challenges of meeting new cleaning and social distancing regulations.
Please note, we will monitor our Junior School attendance when Myrniong returns on Tuesday 26 May and reassess the needs of our Years 3-6 students if deemed necessary.
More information about the return to school will be emailed to parents and posted on the website when planning is finalised. We are genuinely excited about welcoming students back to the classroom and being a whole school again within the month.
I remain here for you anytime at ahirst@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au.
