A Memorable Day
The 50th birthday of Dromana College was certainly a memorable experience. There was lots to do, see, eat and discover. I had no idea it had been an all-boys school in the past! The birthday was very well thought out and according to some people I know, a lot better than they expected it would be. Some people even said it was better than the Red Hill Show, which had been on the previous day. It was an excellent way to celebrate 50 years of education and we thank everyone who put in the hard effort to make it work. I enjoyed it a lot and found it a great way to celebrate with friends and family.
Some things other people thought;
- ‘It was very good’ – Maya
- ‘It was a lot of fun’ – Lillian
- ‘I thought it turned out well and there was lots of people’ - Hannah
In the end, the birthday was a massive success and I would definitely attend or help out if it were to happen again.

Cycling On Show
It was a fantastic event that involved the greater Dromana College Community celebrating the passing of 50 great years that have seen the transformation of the school into the great place that it is today. On show were many school based activities that evoke the statements “They didn’t have that when I was at school” including the Cycling Subject and Human Powered Vehicles.
This year, a number of students will race the HPV’s at Wonthaggi and learn specialists skills of nutrition, hydration, race craft, maintenance of equipment and advanced riding skills in the Cycling Program or train hard after school from 3.15pm to 4.15pm around the College's 3.75 Km Hillview Trail in the after school training program.
The first race of the Cycling Victoria State Mountain bike Championships will be held on a weekend towards the end of Semester one at Dromana College and it will be the fifth year of the great event involving over two hundred competitors from Victorian Primary and secondary schools.
Please contact the college and ask for Adrian Wale, Beau Wood or Jenny Hunter if you have a child with an interest in being involved.
Thanks to Josh, Cade and Kim in the photo’s for helping out on the day,
Adrian Wale
