from the assistant principal

It’s hard to believe that we are already approaching the end of first term. Although it has been a relatively short term, much has been achieved. The first round of Progress Reports have been distributed via the Daymap portal. It was pleasing to see so many interested parents and students in attendance at the Parent-Teacher Interviews, which is a great opportunity to flesh out what is written on reports and work with teachers to improve student learning. It is vital that students do not fall behind with their studies at this early stage of the year and every effort needs to be made to complete and submit unfinished work. As well as doing this at home, students are encouraged to attend afterschool classes where further assistance and support is available for students. These classes run in the Library each Wednesday and Thursday. Teachers from all subject areas are in attendance to provide one-to-one support for students.

Although we are currently experiencing an Autumn heatwave, I would like to remind students and parents that it is important to have correct uniform ready as the cooler months approach. This includes a school jumper and Dromana College logo jacket. Any other jackets and hoodies are not permitted.

I wish all students and families a safe and relaxing Easter break, before we start again in Term 2.
