Congratulations Paris Blair! - Futsal

Thank you for asking for more information about what Paris got up to in the holidays!

During the October school holidays Paris played in the National School Girls Futsal in Brisbane for the combined Central Coast/Newcastle U16s girls.  They played 9 games over 4 days.

During the competition they competed against other teams from around Australia.

They went through the competition undefeated, winning the grand final 3-1 against Queensland City.

Accessing the Beach

Walking on the beach is such an enjoyable activity which most people take for granted.  However, for people in wheelchairs accessing the sand can be a difficult thing.

On the Central Coast we are fortunate that some of our Surf Life Saving Clubs have special beach accessible wheelchairs. This term a group of students from the Special Education Centre is going to Umina Beach and making use of the fabulous beach wheelchairs which have large inflatable wheels.

I would like to acknowledge the support given to us by Craig Healy and the Life Guards at Umina Beach who had the chairs ready and gave us a great welcome. We had a fun afternoon on Tuesday and made the most of the first sunny day for a while. We also appreciate the help given to us by staff and students from Girrakool School who assist us transferring students and pushing the chairs along the sand.

Inter-Schools Horse Extravaganza - Skye Regan

Skye Regan of Year 8, competed at the Inter-schools Horse Extravaganza representing Henry Kendall High School on the weekend of 12-15 October 2018. This is a massive annual event and Skye came away with a win and 6 places out of 750 riders. Congratulations Skye!

2018 State Athletics Special Olympics - Jade Ansell

On Sunday 21 October 2018, Jade Ansell attended the Special Olympics New South Wales 2018 State Athletics Competition in Sydney.

1st Place - Gold Medal - 200m Run

2nd Place - Silver Medal - Standing Jump

2nd Place Silver Medal - Relay

4th Place - Ribbon - 100m Run

5th Place - Ribbon - Shot Put

A total of 3 medals and 2 ribbons!
