After studying dance and movement in PE classes, the Year 9 students were given an opportunity to come together as a group and show off their new dance moves at the Year 9 Social Dance in the last week of Term 3.

DJ David Fanning was on the decks and played a mix of old classics as well as the latest pop music. Wendy Kenbeek led the dance performance, with students engaging  in partner dancing as well as  old favourites such as the Macarena, Nutbush and the Bus Stop.

It was a great opportunity for students and staff to come together and socialise over music, dance and pizza.

Year 9

The Year 9 Social was a really fun night. Most of the night was spent dancing to some classic songs like the Macarena, Nutbush and the Bus Stop. Everyone enjoyed socialising over pizza and drinks. At the very start of the night no one was really into the dancing, but by the end everyone was having a blast!

Year 9

The social dance was a really good night. Once everyone arrived, we settled in and got comfortable and started to dance. Everyone gave the dancing a go and it was really fun as the music was great. We enjoyed some pizza and a drink and then did more dancing. In the end some of the boys got together in a big group and started singing Horses. The whole of Year 9 enjoyed themselves.

Year 9

The Year 9 Social was a really fun experience and the atmosphere was great. All the teachers, as well as the students, were really positive. At first no one really knew what to do but as we got further into the night everyone was laughing and having a really good time. We danced to some classic songs like the Bus Stop, Macarena and Nutbush, all of which we had learned during PE classes. Overall it was a really fun night and everyone that came had a great time.

Year 9

The Year 9 students had a social dance and most of our year level turned up to it. It was good to interact and have fun with our friends. There was good music and you could request songs you wanted to hear. Mr Fanning was the DJ for the night: he was very good. It went for 2 hours and it was good to hang out with friends, to dance and to get to know other students in Year 9. In our sport classes we did dance lessons which was an exciting lead up to the event. Overall the Social was really fun and I enjoyed it all.

Year 9

The Year 9 Social was a great experience. It was nice to hang out with friends and have some food. I am not a very good dancer but I had a go at all the different dances. The music was great thanks to Mr Fanning our “DJ”. Also, many thanks to all the other staff that helped organise this event.

The Year 9 social was a fantastic opportunity for the year level to show off their recently learned dance moves conducted during their Dance unit in PE. It was great to see all the students having a good time outside of school hours - dancing away to some of their favourite music with a few old classics thrown in. Highlights included the Nutbush, Macarena and Daryl Braithwaite's Horses to finish the night. This was a request from a few of the boys who had a great time belting out the chorus at the top of their lungs! The night was a huge success.
