at the crossroads

At the start of this year BSC was fortunate to have the Moreland City Council appoint a crossing supervisor for the busy Dawson Street pedestrian crossing directly outside of the school. 

Gerry McMaster has been doing a sterling job throughout the year,  looking after the safety of students who use the crossing before school from 8am and for the period after school from 3.15pm.  Gerry's proactivity and close attention to both the traffic and to students has prevented a couple of potentially dangerous incidents this year, and we are very thankful for his effectiveness and reliability in this key role. 

Additionally, Gerry has made a point of being both a friendly and respectful presence, greeting students and other users of the crossing and creating a very positive atmosphere at the front of our school.  We would encourage all of our students and other members of the school community to acknowledge the important contribution Gerry makes to our safety.
