Out Of School Hours Care

OSHC News

My Time Our Place: During the first two weeks of Term 2 the children have participated in a variety of activities both indoors and outdoors. This Terms focus has been on Literacy and incorporating literacy skills into fun and engaging activities. This has seen the children create letter sounds flowers, family word-strips and their own themed find-a-word. These activities require the children to build on past knowledge and grow and deepen current literary understandings.

Due to the rainy and cold weather,  the children haven’t been able to play outside however they have spent time in the gym playing a variety of team sports such as soccer and cricket.

April Vac Care Newsletter: The April Vacation Care Newsletter is now available from the OSHC room, front office, attached below or online on the LNPS website.  Be sure to pick up a copy to see all the fun things we got up to these holidays!

Updated OSHC/VAC Payment Method: The service encourages parents to make  OSHC or Vac Care payments using the following:

QKR App

EFTPOS at the service

By providing your credit card details.

Electronic Sign In: The OSHC service will now be using the Spike App on an iPad to sign children in and out of the service which is located in the OSHC room. Parents/guardians or caregivers will only be provided with a code if they are written on the child’s collection authority form.

Please see an educator to receive your individual and unique sign-in code or if you need any help navigating the app.

Paperless Service: The service strives to continually improve and has decided to reduce the amount of paper used. This means that  there will be changes to signing in and out children and all invoices will be received via email. It is imperative that all parents fill out and return a form with their updated email addresses and contact numbers in order to complete this transition. Forms will be available from the OSHC room and will be sent via email and post to all parents. We are endeavouring to have all online communications ready by Term 2. During the transition process paper copies will still be available from the OSHC room.

Receptions: Please be aware that the Reception children will no longer be collected from their classrooms as of Term 2. The reception teachers will be informed of this and will remind their students that they need to attend OSHC. Educators will be aware of which reception children are expected to attend that day and will follow up any absentees past 3:15pm.

Medications: If your child requires medication please ensure that you have provided an action plan as well as the medication (asthma pump, epipen etc.) to the service. It is vital that we have access to your child’s medication at our service whilst your child is attending.

Hats: As part of our sun safety policy all children are required to wear a hat all year, if they are playing outside. Please remind your child/children to bring their hats from their classroom if they are attending the service.

Absentees: A reminder to all parents and caregivers to contact the service on 8443 5308 if their child(ren) are no longer attending their sessions or have been collected early from school.

Active After School: If your child is going to attend an after school activity please notify the service in advance. If our Educators have not been notified by parents/caregivers the children will be unable to leave the service.

Dietary Requirements: At our service we aim to cater to children’s needs as much as possible, however, if your child has specific dietary requirements or does not like the food programmed for the day please pack an alternative snack or drop off food alternatives at the service.

Thank you
