We had another crazy but fantastic term over here in PE and sport. With many of our interschool teams having some great results. We learnt more about some of our favorite sports in the Territory games unit. Further developing our skills in basketball, soccer, football and many more.
Our girls soccer and mixed netball team had started training all the way back in term two, developing their skills and teamwork. This continues well into term three as they won the Woodlands division and then went on to win the district championships. With the girls soccer Progressing onto the regional championships. This was an amazing effort from the students and showed their hard work was paying. We were extremely proud of their efforts as they came 3rd at regional level. Thank you to the students and coaches amongst both teams.
Our girls tennis team took to the courts over at the Hume tennis center. Were they took on the district, winning 4 out of 7 matches, on minimal training. Majority of these girls were in Grade 5, so we look forward to watching these girls develop over the year and come back ready to smash it next year!!
We had a great day out at the Meadowglen International Athletics track this term. 50 of our students trained up in their preferred track or field event in the lead up to give themselves the best chance on the day. The kids had a great day making new friends from other schools and seeing some familiar faces of past Roxburgh Park students. Overall, the day was a great success with some of students making itnthrough to the division level.
The B league gala day is fun filled day where students from around the district come to participate in fun, social games of Capture the Flag and Endzone. These gala days are aimed to be social days where students can make new friends, find fun ways to keep healthy and create a love for movement. We gave all our 5/6s the opportunity to participate, in order to give students who may not join in interschool sport teams this experience.
