Year 5 Report

Term 3 2022

During this term, the children continued to participate in a Social and Emotional Learning program. Specifically, the students focused on identifying their strengths and how these could be used to improve their life. In addition, Jess Baido continued to work in the classroom with the teacher, participating in activities that  focused on building social and emotional skills to facilitate positive peer relationships.

 

 

 

Our major focus this term was identifying different types of friendships, how different people impact friendship groups and how to solve problems in friendship groups.

 

BOOK WEEK

 

This term the students worked during reading session to identify the structure, language features and text features of a non-fiction texts. They used this knowledge to research and create their own non-fiction books. These e-Books will be on display for parents to view next term at our Writer’s Festival.

 

During our Government Topic the students added leaves of new knowledge on their trees.

In Maths   

 

3D shapes were identified, labelled and created.                     

 

 

The students used their knowledge of multiplication to solve measurement problems.
