The Year 6 students have been working on a joint Art and Digi Tech project this year. In Art they used line work to design and make a lantern. As they were working on this, the students were learning how to code the Hummingbird Robotics lights. The two were combined to create light shows which we videoed. You can see a small sample of these by going to
All students have a copy of their own video in the Class Notebook in Office 365 which they can access at home using the Go VPS page - ask your son/daughter to share this with you.
Last night we had our Senior Soiree in the Vermont Primary School Stadium. This event featured performances from some of our school music groups as well as a number of solo performances from Year 5 and Year 6 students. The String Group, String Quartet, Dance Group and Orchestra all performed. Our Music Leaders, Alice and Ayrton, were the hosts for the evening and they also helped to select our awards for the best solo performances of the evening and deliver some great performances themselves. The awards for Best Solo Performances went to Cecilia 5GP (piano), Zoey 6KM (piano) and Kate 6KM (violin). It was a tremendous evening with a lot of members of the school community showing up to watch the performances.
Thank-you to all the teachers, students and parents involved in making the night a success. We will be hosting some more Soiree concerts next term that will feature the rest of our school music groups – Rock Band, Senior Choir and Junior Choir – and will also give our younger students the opportunity to perform solos. Information and forms for these concerts will be released early next term.
