Foley House News

Mr Stan Kosiek

It was an actioned-packed start to Term 3.

Our Year 11’s continued with their Leadership Program and elected their House Leaders for 2023 from an outstanding field of candidates who nominated for various positions and gave their speeches to an audience of their peers in Foley.

I congratulate the following students:

  • Cultural Captain: Joseph Lewis
  • Academic Captain: Daniel Feltrin
  • Sport Captain: Parker Lovering
  • Mission Captain: Zeke Esler
  • Wellbeing Captain: Patrick Hooper

Foley 7’s Touch Competition commenced Week 3 after some rain delays. The competition is an event between the Houses involving players in three different levels, Years 11 and 12, 9 and 10 and 7 and 8.

I’m pleased to announce that our Years 9 and 10 team were victorious in winning their Grand Final. Congratulations to them on a stunning win in extra time. Our Years 11 and 12 experienced some success, making it to the semi-finals in hard-fought games. The Years 7 and 8 Foley squad play their semi-finals this week and we wish them every success as their confidence grows. Foley leads the competition at this stage.

Ridley Master Minds competition was COVID-19 affected this year with only Year 12s competing. Our greatest minds battled under the pressure of answering challenging quickfire questions. Although we didn’t achieve at the podium level in a close competition, the boys proudly represented their House.

Year 9s have started their camp preparation for a departure in Week 9. Foley are venturing to “Cricklewood” in the Numinbah Valley, next to Springbrook National Park, at the foothills of Turtle Rock.  Spectacular waterfalls and lush rainforest form a backdrop for an engaging and inspiring camp with action-packed adventures.

Our Seniors shortly will enter into their External Exam program with Mock Exams scheduled in Weeks 7 and 8. We wish them every success during this challenging time.
