Gilroy House News

Term 3 has been a big one for Gilroy House.

Our young Giants have been busy in many aspects of College life. We are yet to get final results of the House Athletics Carnival however we had a great day of full participation from our young men. I have no doubt many Personal Bests and friendships were created on the day. Our Year 12s were not the strongest in the Rush House Tug O War competition on the day but they were manful in their efforts. Well done to all in Gilroy House for their efforts in the House Athletics Carnival.

Foley 7s. We have had some excellent efforts in Foley 7s. Last week the Year 11/12 Group finished a very creditable second to a very talented Slattery team. Well done to all the boys who have participated in Foley 7s. The 7/8s will be competing in the semi-finals this week. Thank you Mr Kosiek and the referees for your efforts.

The Ridley Masterminds was held last week in the Science centre. Mr Meehan created a very enjoyable 2022 version. It took a team with a vast knowledge of all aspects of trivia to perform well in this house activity. Our seniors presented themselves perfectly on the day and missed the win by only a few questions.

Thank you to all boys and families in Year 7 and 8 who have completed their subject selections for 2023. This is an important process for the boys as they gain an understanding of various subjects to participate in.

Congratulations to all of our boys who had the courage to nominate for Gilroy House Leadership positions. We had a great time identifying potential leaders in our leadership day and afternoon and concluded with speeches to our seniors 2023. We wish all leaders the best as they continue the process for College Leadership Positions.

This Wednesday Gilroy House are invited to celebrate College Mass in the College chapel. We take this opportunity to invite all members of Gilroy House and their families to College Mass this week in the Chapel for an 8:00am start.
