Principal’s Message

Mrs Kath Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week we have the opportunity to reflect on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and the most significant contribution she has made to our history. For our generation and our children's generation the seventy years of service provided by the Queen may not be experienced again in  our lifetime.  Her commitment to serving others was constant and required agility and flexibility when addressing diversity in an era of remarkable change.  We will have a time for further reflection on Thursday 22 September with a national day of mourning.

With the weather starting to warm up, from this week all students will be able to begin the transition to the summer uniform. Students may wear either the winter uniform or the summer uniform but not a combination of the two.

For families of students in Years 5 and 6, please remember that final payments for the upcoming Canberra excursion are due by Friday 23 September (the final day of Term 3). If you have any concerns please contact me at school.

Next Wednesday 21 September, Sacred Heart School will be hosting the Small Schools Public Speaking Competition. We have 120 entries for the day which is a phenomenal effort across four schools. Parents are welcome to come and watch the speeches, starting at 9:15am. More information will be sent out during the week.

Lastly, our kindergarten transition is continuing this week for students commencing kinder in 2023. If you know of anyone who is intending to enrol at Sacred Heart either in Kindergarten for 2023 or any other year group, please encourage them to contact me at school.

Take care

Kath Baird
