Principal's Report

The new season of spring has started today and it’s amazing the influence a change in season can have on our mindset. We all look forward to a change in the weather, brighter and longer days. This is great timing as we head to the end of term and all the assessments and exam preparation that will bring for our students. We think of our year 12 students as they complete the GAT next Wednesday and as staff, we look forward to our professional learning day, where we will focus on different aspects of culture.

The previous few weeks have been both challenging and exciting as students and teachers discuss subjects for next year. My thanks to Beth Crossman and the team of staff who have worked with students and families as they reflect, research and select subjects and pathways for 2023. This is exciting, but at times can also unsettle students as they start to move in to a different space. The staff are aware of this and continue to work with students as they adapt to different times and spaces.

House Leaders have been appointed for 2023 and we are blessed as a community to have the breadth of experience and commitment to our students in our College. The work of House Leaders is often unpredictable and at times quite demanding. I ask the community to be supportive and respectful of the work they do on a daily basis as they minister to our students and staff. Whilst we may not always agree with decisions, I believe we agree on our core values of forming young people to be people for others and with others.
