In the Kitchen

Last week our Year 9 Foods class stepped out of the St Joes kitchen and into a kitchen of a different kind - at Nourish Echuca.

 

The purpose of this excursion was to learn more about a local foods business, while also receiving training on how to make sushi and smoothies. Yum!

 

During their visit, students had the opportunity to design, roll and taste their own sushi and at the same time learn about the nutritional value of sushi and smoothies and how the seasons affect the availability of fresh produce.

 

This was an incredibly valuable, enjoyable and tasty hands-on experience for the class and we would like to thank Maria, Alex and the staff at Nourish for having us!
