Parents as Partners to tackle Cyber Safety at home

We all know that social media and technology has become part of our daily lives. Used in the correct way, it can be a powerful tool to connect with people, explore and discover new things and a platform for innovation and creativity. However, at times it can be a place of negativity and impact the mental health of young people.

Social media platforms such as Snapchat, Tiktok, Messenger and Instagram can be a mask for negativity, exclusion, and cyber bullying.

As part of our commitment to student’s safety we have included helpful resources for families to educate students about safe online behaviour. This week’s resource is '5 tips to keep your family safe online'. This resource comes from the esafety commissioner and is designed to support families and young people.

Take time tonight to check in with your child and touch base with them about their online activities.
