Auslan

We have been making Handshapes in Auslan. These are the formation of your hand when signing a particular sign. If the shape of your hand changes, then the message you are trying to convey changes.

VISUAL ARTS

CONSTRUCTION

Junior students have been very hands on with nature, kitchen, and cardboard collages. They have also loved building skyscrapers, some of which had pools and gardens on the rooftop!

Senior students have completed their Mosaic Unit, where they turned coasters, urns and terracotta pots into beautiful mosaic art works. I hope you cherish yours at home!

MUSIC

Independent Instrument Program - Grades 3-6

Grades 3-6 students have eight weeks of  learning two selected instruments, using our custom made lessons. Students are now preparing to combine their skills and create their own bands and songs in Term 4!

Ukulele time!

Grades P-2 are spending some time learning to play the ukulele, using some class made songs and a school wide competition using the app Yousician. Yousician is a free (for limited use a day) app and you can see more information on it here. It also caters for singing, keys, bass and guitar for all levels.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

 Junior program

This term our junior students have been busy improving their gross motor skills by practicing activities like the egg and spoon race, sack race hurdles and vortex throw. They have also been working to develop their skill of a forehand strike using a tennis racquet. With the weather being terrible this term and some of our lessons moved to the classroom it was a good chance for the younger students to learn about the food pyramid and healthy eating.

Senior Program

The students have had a blast learning all new skills this term with the senior students lucky enough to have some Bendigo Braves come and coach them the fundamentals of basketball.

Have a happy and safe holidays. See you all in Term 4.
