Diocesan Athletics

Thank you to all students who participated in the Dio Athletics carnival on Tuesday this week. It was very windy with the ominous threat of rain. Fortunately the rain kept at bay until after the carnival had finished. The student's behaviour is to be commended and I was so lucky to be there watching their amazing efforts. They had fantastic results and should be extremely proud of themselves.

Some outstanding results from the day were:

Olive McFarlane placed 2nd in the 11 year girls 100m & 200m run. Olive was also the 11 year girls runner up champion!!

Scarlett Newberry placed 1st in the 8-10 year girls long jump & 4th in the 8-10 year girls 100m & 200m run.

Flynn McFarlane placed 2nd in the 9 year boys 100m run

Hugo Sisson placed 2nd in the 8 year boys 100m run

Noah Brennan placed 3rd in the 12-13 year boys shot put

Christopher Welsh, Kayne Brennan, Hugo Sisson and Flynn McFarlane placed 2nd in the 8-10 year boys 100m relay. Great work boys!

Congratulations to the following students who will be travelling to Newcastle to compete at the Polding Athletics Championships on Friday the 9th of September.
