Teaching and Learning

Welcome Back
What a busy and a different start to the term. We are so impressed by the resilience and persistence shown by own students and families as we transitioned to flexible and remote learning last week. I highly doubt that there was a school in the state that did not experience some sort of minor glitch during the transition last week and the patience and understanding demonstrated by our families was fantastic. We have been so impressed by the level of engagement of our students and families in the learning tasks that are being assigned. Every day we are receiving more and more work samples, pictures and clips of our amazing students learning from home, even Poppy has got in on the action!
While we are still in the early stages of working in flexible and remote learning conditions, we have established some supportive and guiding processes for the ongoing operations of remote teaching and learning which our teams have quickly adapted to.
As a teaching team we will be reviewing and improving these processes as the term progresses. Your child’s teacher and Team Leader will communicate any alterations or additions to our program as we move through the term. Please always be guided by the needs of your child and engage with the learning program at a level which supports and engages them. The wellbeing of our students is our primary focus during this unusual time.
In closing, I would like to acknowledge our amazing teaching and learning team for the additional learning and workload they have embraced in the early weeks of this term, with lots of them supporting their own families at the same time, to support our students transition to flexible and remote learning. Our IT team has also worked tirelessly to prepare devices for families who have requested that support and our administration team who have not only supported distributing devices, but have also managed an extremely large number of calls and enquiries to the school. We are all working together to create the most supportive and engaging program for remote and flexible learning that we can and we truly appreciate the support we have received from our community.
Please stay safe and healthy.
