REAL TALK

REAL TALK

This week the newsletter is promoting REAL TALK, a Catholic group which has been contracted by the Armidale Catholic Schools Office to deliver workshops for both students and parents with a focus on relationships and sexuality. In 2018, all schools in our diocese are welcoming REAL TALK. The group has previously presented a workshop to our Year 9 and 10 students in 2016 and also to staff. The student workshop was hugely engaging, relevant, down to earth and left the students with great information to empower themselves to make positive choices. The staff workshop on pornography was riveting.

As parents and carers, we encourage you to attend the parent workshops which will be on offer. Feel free to bring a friend from somewhere. No matter where your child sits on the K-10 learning continuum, the parent workshops are relevant and engaging. You will not be disappointed.

PLAYGROUND INSTALLATION

The new playground equipment  has now been completed. A small area remains for phase 2 work for additional equipment. Minor landscaping is still to happen. The project was a large financial investment which will provide exciting play experiences for our students  for many years to come. This venture was a jointly funded by the Parents and Friends Association and the school Accommodating weight bearing for students K-10, secondary students are a familiar sight on the equipment, testings its capacity.

NEW SCHOOL UNIFORM

We are expecting delivery of the new uniform by mid January. The Uniform Shop will have significant additional opening hours prior to school starting. These hours will be well advertised in the coming weeks.

It is important to remember:

The new uniform is not compulsory for families to take take up in 2019. The current uniform can still be worn.

By 2021 it is anticipated the student cohort will be fully transitioned to the new uniform.
