Principal's Report
Principal's Report
As we move through the year, our Positive Behaviour Team helps the whole school focus on a particular behaviour in the Staughton Student matrix. For the next few weeks we are focussing on:
EFFORT
This is a great time to focus on effort, as students sit the NAPLAN tests in year 7 and 9. It was terrific to see the effort in NAPLAN by the students in both year levels. You will soon receive interim reports. This presents an opportunity to have conversations with your children about how to show perseverance, seek extra help, and use High Impact Learning Strategies to continue their improvement as we wind into the last part of the semester.
Child safe
In response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Reponses to Child Sexual Abuse, all schools are required to implement minimum Child Safety Standards.
At Staughton College, we hold the care, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school. We have fully implemented all of the standards during the past twelve months, including a Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct. Both of these documents can be found on our website.
I will be regularly reminding our school community of these policies as part of our ongoing commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care.
DAVID LORD
Principal
We, at Staughton College, would like to show our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated, of elders past and present. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits our school.
Parent Notice
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Please note we now have a message on our phones during the day to give parent/guardians the option to report an absence by pressing 1 or to come through to reception by pressing 2.
