Our Community

Just 1 Day
Over the past few weeks our Junior Students have been involved in Just 1 Day, a program run by International Needs Australia that includes workshops educating and raising awareness about providing children in developing countries access to education.
During the workshops students learnt about a day in the life of a child living in a poor community, looking at issues such as child rights and access to water, electricity and education.
In addition to attending workshops, students this week spent a day eating simply, thinking carefully about water use, turning off screens and fundraising.
Our community raised a staggering $5881.00 and at the time of publishing and was still counting. It is expected that our Junior School community will have raised over $6000.00 for Just 1 Day – an absolutely amazing effort. Congratulations.

Year 4 Animal Day
Junior School students recently came to School dressed as their favourite animal in support of the RSPCA.
There were also a number of competitions for students to participate in including the cute animal photo competition, raffle, colouring competition and best dressed.
A total of $800.60 was raised for the RSPCA - a tremendous effort from all involved.
New Traffic Signal System on Grange Road / Oakleigh Road Intersection
VicRoads is installing traffic signals at the intersection of Grange Road and Oakleigh Road in Glenhuntly commencing in early December 2016 and is expected to be completed by end March 2017.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users there will be changes to traffic conditions including speed reduction down to 40km/h and partial lane closures during the works. Minor delays to traffic during construction are expected.
This is great news for our students as it will increase the safety for children crossing Grange Road from the east side.
