Year 8, Digital Technologies Boot Camp

Monday 10th to 19th December

To assist MGC in covering the Digital Technologies curriculum with, we are holding an 8-day intensive compulsory program in the last two weeks of term 4. We will be providing several different types of lessons for students to learn about different computer technologies, intermixed with some sporting activities, elective activities and a chance to assist the Year 7s in their Choral preparations.

Planned activities include coding, computer networking, using Microsoft technologies to prepare for Year 9 and working on a prototyping challenge. Students will learn about how to effectively use Photoshop and Adobe Spark to create multimedia presentations as well as do some robotics and delve into the inner workings of a computer.

All students are expected to bring a charged laptop to school for each day of the program and a final assessment will be a learning task on compass. Make sure that you have Office 365 installed and wireless access. IT Services will be able to help with any problems.
