PESI

(Preparation for Exam Success Intervention)

PESI (Preparation for Exam Success Intervention) is a program that started in Term 1 for Year 12 VCE students. PESI teaches students skills that will help them do well in Year 12, not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, physically and mentally. In PESI students learn effective ways to study and how to form good study habits and techniques, as well as how to flourish, using the principles of Positive Education. Positive Education uses theories from Positive Psychology and in Term 1 we focused on identifying strengths and using these strengths to reach goals. Once students discovered their strengths, they learned about practical ways to use their strengths to do well.

In Term 2, PESI will continue to support students by providing them opportunities to learn and practice building mindset skills such as resilience, perseverance and grit. Students will also learn about gratitude and mindfulness practices and techniques. In light of the unique challenges Year 12 students are facing during remote learning, we have modified the PESI modules for remote learning, and made them available to all Year 12 VCE and VCAL students. Students can find the PESI modules on the Year 12 Google Classroom page, your child can join using the code o7w2jhl, if they have not already. The PESI modules are designed for students to work through at their own pace and provide practical tips and strategies that we believe will support students throughout this new way of learning.

Please encourage your child to access the PESI modules. They are not long and can be completed at the student’s own pace. In the coming weeks, the PESI team will provide further advice and resources to help you support your child to do well during remote learning.

Take care,
