Tutorial Groups Yr 8&9 Students

Welcome to Week 4 at Staughton College, where the exciting news is that Tutorial Groups are back on again for Yr 8 and Yr 9 students!

However, so that we keep things as easy as possible for students and parents, it has been simplified for remote learning. The new format is as follows:

• Students read their Just Right Text for 20 minutes a day, as usual.
• Students no longer have to read during Tutorial time specifically. They can now read any time it suits them to fit in with their home routine. However, we recommend students pick a time to do it every day, and stick to that time. 
• There will not be any conferencing with teachers
• Students should keep their reading goal in mind when they read, to give them an improvement focus. They can ask their English teacher if they have forgotten their goal. 
• We would also like students to watch a short video that will be posted on Google Classroom each week, to help with their reading. You may have seen the first one that talks about why reading a Just Right Text is important. The second one will give some really great information about setting reading goals to help with reading at home.
