Literacy Week Reflection

When we first started remote learning and realised that Literacy Week would be happening while we were at home, we were unsure how to go about turning the week digital. We usually have a really fun week around school and we wanted to make sure that our students could enjoy some fun activities while at home.

With a bit of creativity we were able to create something so we could still get our students involved and thinking about literacy. Each day we had great responses from our community. We saw some great writing and entries to our competitions and today we are announcing our winners.

Quiz: Crystal Bramley 9C, Sienna Leon 8H, Kiera Porter 9E

Song Writing Competition: Sienna Leon 8H

Congratulations winners, you should be really proud of your entries, keep an eye on your inbox for your prize. Read Sienna and Harmony's writing entries below. As we continue into this term, we will be sharing more literacy helpers and resources to help you with your reading and learning.

Song Writing Competition Winner - Sienna Leon 8H

Based on:

"I'll just go down and have some pudding and wait for it all to turn up ... It always does in the end."

I'm just waiting for everything to come back

I'm waiting for my shoes, for my clothes

For everything,I know,

But I lost it all at Hogwarts

The students were mean but I kept ignoring them,

Even when Umbridge kept going, ahem!

Harry knew but didn't know what to do

So I ended up telling him,

I'm just gonna get some pudding,

And just as I left, I saw my shoes swinging

I wonder if the kids will leave my stuff alone next year

But until then I'm just gonna take my time,

And go get some pudding,

Don't worry Harry, i'm fine.

Because the kids might think I'm Looney

That's just because I'm Looney Lovegood

The students were mean but I kept ignoring them,

Even when Umbridge kept going, ahem!

Harry knew but didn't know what to do

So I ended up telling him,

I'm just gonna get some pudding,

And just as I left, I saw my shoes swinging

The kids make fun of me,
