Sustainability at St Raphael's

Let's Play!
Late last year Darebin Council approached St Raphael's along with many other primary schools in our local community to ask children what they enjoyed and when and where they liked to play. Our Year 1/2 students took up the challenge and as part of their literacy activities created some amazing play maps.
These play maps created by the children of Darebin along with consultation formed the backbone of the Darebin Play Maps project.
Darebin play maps are a celebration of simple, inexpensive ways families can get outdoors and enjoy spending time together.

Welcome back Year 3/4 to our Outdoor Learning Space
It's great to welcome the Year 3/4's back into our Outdoor Learning Space. Here students participate in a variety of activities that help keep our school grounds and garden beds clean and healthy. Each week, two students volunteer as Reporter and Photographer and document all that's going on during these Sustainability sessions. Their article is published right here in the newsletter. Enjoy!

Emily: I like being outside!
Nicholas: I like planting and mainly everything because it's all fun.
Laila: I like that you get to do gardening and you get fresh air.
Madeleine: My favourite thing about sustainability is that I get to write stuff in the newsletter and I get to work with my friends.
